First Baptist Church Sylvester Preschool

...a place where children ages 2-4 can learn and grow in a nurturing and safe environment that honors Christ.

Our Vision Statement

The children would KNOW God in a personal way, that they would GROW strong in all areas (physical, social, emotional, spiritual, and academic) and that they would SHOW this knowledge and growth in their daily lives.

Our Program

Our preschool program is based on a Christian world view and consists of developmentally appropriate practices for each age group.  Each day consists of morning meetings, group work, story time, art, centers, and outdoor play.  The children go on a weekly basis to chapel with Brother Donnie, our Pastor, and to music with Brother Bobby, our Minister of Music.  The staff of the public library comes for a special story time once a month.  Several field trips are taken each year.

We have classes for children who turn 2, 3, or 4 years of age by September 1 of each school year.  Each class is served by two adults.

Registration for each year begins in February and is open on a first-come first- serve basis until each class is full.  We are a non-discriminatory school, and all children are welcome.  A non-refundable fee of $100 is required at registration to reserve your spot.  Monthly tuition of $175 is due on the first day of school and the first Monday of each month thereafter.  We follow the Worth County public school calendar and are in session from August to May.

The preschool is overseen by a six-member committee.  The director is a reitred Worth County educator who has degrees in Early Childhood Education and Leadership Education.  Our teachers all have prior experience working with young children and regularly receive staff development in early childhood theory and practice.
